In this level, students familiarise with the Turkish language. In addition, they gain knowledge about the lifestyle in contemporary Turkey and they come into contact with its culture. Besides the alphabet, students are taught basic grammar structures and a significant volume of vocabulary. The main goal is for students to be able to understand and participate in various everyday situations (salutations, introductions, telephone conversations, transactions in shops etc.). There are two different levels for the Temel certificate. The Temel 2 (KATILIM BELGESİ), which corresponds to the level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference, and the Temel 4 (SERTİFİKA), which corresponds to the level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference.

The lessons in this level comprise more complex structures in grammar and syntax. At the same time, the students’ vocabulary is enriched, idiomatic expressions are taught and expression in written discourse is enhanced. The aim is for the student to be able to compose short, simple texts (short descriptive essays) and adequately comprehend articles in magazines and newspapers. Last, in oral discourse, it is expected of students to be able to communicate fluently in more complex situations of everyday life (transactions in services, use of transport, conversations in hotels, shops, restaurants etc.). The Orta 4 certificate (SERTİFİKA) corresponds to the level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference.
Advanced Level (Yüksek Seviye)
In this level, students perfect their language skills in Turkish. The aim is to further enrich the students’ vocabulary, improve their accent, and teach them more complex grammatical and syntactical phenomena. At the end of this course, students are able to express their opinion on various issues. They can also comprehend more complex texts (from literature, the press, science, sports etc.).
